Google Reach Program

Google Reach Program
In the second week of February, 2014, we were privilege to have the Google team from United States, Columbia and Germany work with us at Soronko Solutions. Their mission was to teach us on how to use some useful Google apps which will be helpful in working, and help develop a curriculum for Tech needs girls.
Tech Needs girls is a mentoring program where we teach girls to code. We had a very dynamic team made up four diligent strong members.

Amol Naik a Corporate Counsel on Google's Global Ethics & Compliance team, he is responsible for legal and regulatory compliance matters, principally for political law, campaign finance, lobbying regulations, election law and government ethics.

Gustavo Alvarado has a BS in Industrial Engineering and a BA in Entrepreneurship, also holds an MBA from IE Business School. Gustavo is interested in the new behavior patterns that generated the Internet on society, and the opportunities these changes create.

Lamia is an associate on the REWS Green team at Google, which is responsible for sustainability initiatives across Google’s global office buildings. Lamia graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Business and a minor in Energy & Resources.

Angela Krieger works as Marketing Manager for EMEA and is responsible for building brand awareness and drive product adoption of Nexus tablet and phones. Before joining the marketing team she was working as an Industry Analyst in the Sales organization.

During the course of their visit, they took time to train us on how to use some apps like Google drive, Google calendar, Google groups, Google maps, Google spreadsheets, and Google forms etc.

They joined in one of our Tech Needs Girls workshops, where they had time to assess the Nima girls in other to develop a better curriculum, they taught the girls some algorithms and problems solving and also played a very interesting math game called bash multiples of numbers.

We had a great and interesting time working with them

Here are some pictures of the team members working at Soronko Solutions.
